    Great Kids Farm Chef Educator Chela Cooper shares a recipe for a holiday side dish featuring the Farm-to-Cafeteria vegetable du jour: carrots! These glazed carrots were taste tested by students at the Farm and will be featured on cafeteria menus in the new year.

    This season at Great Kids Farm, we harvested several varieties of cherry-sized tomatoes that went to Baltimore City Public Schools cafeterias in celebration of Maryland Homegrown School Lunch Week. Summer is still hanging on, and so are our tomato plants.     As part of the Healthy Eating, Healthy Living professional development program, the Farm's staff visits teachers' classrooms to team-teach lessons demonstratrating how healthy foods and gardening can be used to teach across the curriculum. A sauerkraut lessons touches on chemistry, microbiology, history, and seasonality. Learn how to conduct your own sauerkraut experiment at home!
